Anlässlich dem Erscheinen seines Buches On Joachim Jungius’ Texturæ Contemplatio. Texture, Weaving and Natural Philosophy in the 17th Century laden Michael Friedman (Tel Aviv University) und der Exzellenzcluster Matters of Activity der Humboldt-Universität herzlich zu einer Buchvorstellung ein.
Im Gespräch zwischen Michael Friedman und Horst Bredekamp, moderiert von Wolfgang Schäffner, wird es um Jungius’ bisher unübersetztes Manuskript Texturæ Contemplatio gehen sowie der Begegnung vom Weben und der Mathematik in der Frühen Neuzeit.

Celebrating the release of his most recent book On Joachim Jungius’ Texturæ Contemplatio. Texture, Weaving and Natural Philosophy in the 17th Century, Michael Friedman (Tel Aviv University) and the Cluster of Excellence Matters of Activity, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, warmly invite you to a book launch on 22 February at 6pm in Sophienstraße 22a, Berlin-Mitte. In a conversation moderated by Wolfgang Schäffner, Michael Friedman and Horst Bredekamp will discuss Jungius’ previously untranslated manuscript Texturæ Contemplatio and the encounter between weaving and mathematics in early modern Europe.
