Francesca Mattei is Alexander von Humboldt fellow at Census of Antique Works of Art and Architecture Known in the Renaissance. Her two years project focuses on the drawings attribuited to Anonymus Mantuanus A, especially on the collections in Berlin and in Kassel. She aims to investigate on the one hand the history of the drawings, on the other hand the link between these collections and the european architectural culture during the XVI Century.

Mattei obtained the BA+MA in IUAV University of Venice (2006), the Master in Architectural History in University of Roma Tre (2008) and the PhD in Architectural History in IUAV University of Venice (2012). In 2013 she won a two years post-doc research-grant in Politecnico di Milano – polo di Mantova with the topic “Gonzaga’s residences in early 16th Century”. Since 2015 she has taught Urban History at Politecnico di Milano.
