BA Application for Foreign Students
Application procedure for the BA program at the Institute of Art and Visual History
Applications are received and processed by the Humboldt’s centrally administered International office and UNI-ASSIST, not by the Institute itself.

Admission requirements for the BA degree:
Applicants must have a high school diploma and transcript with final grades (including grade point average).

Transferring to the BA Program at the Institute of Art and Visual History:
Students already enrolled in a BA Program who wish to transfer to the Institute of Art and Visual History may apply to do so. Transfer applications are received and processed by the Humboldt’s centrally administered application system UNI-ASSIST, not by the Institute itself.
Please note that you will have to be admitted into the BA program first before the number of transfer credits for coursework already completed at your previous university will be accounted for on an individual, case-by-case basis.

Are there any course offerings in English?
Although the Institute does offer some courses in English, please note that German is the primary language of instruction and coursework and you must demonstrate your proficiency in German to be admitted to the BA program.
