Das Doktorandenforum zur Kunstgeschichte des östlichen Europas 2020 ist aufgrund der Bestimmungen zur Eindämmung der Ausbreitung des Coronaviruses abgesagt worden. Die eingereichten Exposés sind jedoch – wie in jedem Jahr – mit Einverständnis der Autor/innen auf unserer Webseite veröffentlicht.
Following the regulation for controlling the spread of Coronaviruas, the International Forum for Doctoral Candidates in East European Art History 2020 was cancelled. The exposés which were turned in were published on our website with the consent of the authors.

Das „Internationale Doktorandenforum Kunstgeschichte des östlichen Europas“ wird 2020 zum siebenten Mal von der Professur Kunstgeschichte Osteuropas ausgerichtet. Die Foren zeigen Jahr für Jahr, dass Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen, die auf diesem Feld arbeiten, ein starkes Bedürfnis nach direktem, lebendigem Austausch über die spezifischen konzeptionellen Fragen und methodischen Probleme kunsthistorischer „area studies“ auf dem Gebiet des östlichen Europas quer durch die Epochen haben.
Mit dem Forum haben wir dafür eine offene Plattform initiiert. Die jährlich stattfindenden Treffen bieten kontinuierliche Gelegenheit und Raum, über inhaltliche, methodische und praktische Probleme der Dissertationsprojekte in einen Gedanken- und Erfahrungsaustausch zu treten, Kontakte zu knüpfen und Kompetenzen zu vernetzen. Die aktuellen Forschungsvorhaben – und über die Jahre hinweg auch ihre Fortschritte und Modifizierungen – sind darüber hinaus auf der Webseite des Forums dokumentiert. Auf diese Weise sowie über eine Facebookgruppe ist eine Vernetzung über die jährlichen Foren hinaus möglich.

The Berlin „International Forum for Doctoral Candidates in East European Art History“ is organized by the Chair for Art History of Eastern Europe already for the seventh Time. Previous editions of the forum have shown us that young scholars from all over the world working in this field have a strong need for a direct, lively exchange of specific conceptual issues and methodological problems of art historical “area studies” of Eastern Europe across the different epochs.
With the forum we have initiated a platform open for these purposes. The annual meetings are offering opportunity and space for a continuous exchange of ideas and experiences, for making contacts and bringing together expertise. Current research projects – and as well their progress and modifications over the years – are documented on the forum’s website. In this way and with a Facebook group it is possible to build networks besides the annual forums.
